PARIS (AP) — Martina Hingis and Leander Paes each completed a career Grand Slam in mixed doubles by winning the French Open final against Sania Mirza and Ivan Dodig 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 on Friday.
It was the 10th mixed doubles title at a major for India's Paes, the fifth for Switzerland's Hingis.
Paes also owns eight Grand Slam men's doubles trophies, while Hingis — a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame — has five in singles and 12 in women's doubles. Heading into Roland Garros, she had won three majors in a row with Mirza as her doubles partner, but they lost in the third round in Paris.
In men's doubles, American twins Bob and Mike Bryan advanced to Saturday's final with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Lukasz Kubot and Alexander Peya. The Bryans — already owners of a record 16 Grand Slam titles in their event — will face Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez of Spain, who won their semifinal against Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 on Friday.
The women's doubles final will be Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic of France against Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina of Russia.
In the semifinals, Garcia and Mladenovic beat Margarita Gasparyan and Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, while Makarova and Vesnina eliminated Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova 6-4, 6-2.
