Reheating these foods can even kill you!


Eggs contain good amount of protein. On reheating, they might be exposed to high temperatures which may destabilize its proteins and make it toxic. So, always avoid reheating scrambled or boiled eggs. However, it’s relatively safer to reheat foods that contain eggs.


Everyone knows about the benefits of eating green vegetables, and lettuce is one of them. But even that can give you food poisoning if you reheat a cooked and buttered version of it. This happens due to excess amount of nitrates present in it.


Not all edible oils can be used as cooking oil. Oils made from walnut, hazelnut, grape seed and avocado have low smoke points which make them easily susceptible to rancidity. You can use them raw and sprinkle on your dish in the end.


Turnips contain high amount of nitrates which make them a dangerous food for reheating. These nitrates can turn extremely toxic and can harm your health very badly.


It is always advisable to consume chicken on the same day of preparation. If due to any unforeseen circumstances, you have to consume it later and reheat it, make sure you do that on a low flame for longer period.


Spinach is super healthy when consumed raw or immediately after cooking. If you keep it overnight and reheat it, it might act as a carcinogenic to your body and give you bad food poisoning.


Rice is a staple food in many parts of the world. Did you know reheating it can actually be very harmful? The Food Standards Agency has stated, “Uncooked rice can contain spores of bacteria that can cause food poisoning. When the rice is cooked, the spores can survive…Then, if the rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores will multiply and may produce poisons that cause vomiting or diarrhoea. Reheating the rice won’t get rid of these poisons.”


Always remember that mushrooms are never supposed to be reheated. Have them cold, if you mus. If you reheat them, they might cause serious heart problems and digestive problems.


Celery is often used in soups. But like many other food items rich in nitrates, celery also turns toxic after reheating. It is the same case with carrots. Avoid reheating them.


Potatoes make some of the best dishes in the world. They taste delicious and also have many nutritional advantages. However, consuming them on the day after preparation and reheating them can cause some serious health troubles. It’s best to avoid reheating them under any situation.
